Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has reportedly urged Gunners supporters to start showing Kai Havertz more appreciation, insisting that the German forward deserves greater recognition for his contribution to the team.
Havertz has experienced different reactions from Arsenal supporters since arriving at the Emirates Stadium. While some fans have praised his performances, others have continued to question his consistency and whether he provides enough quality in the attacking areas.
However, his ability to influence matches, contribute goals and create opportunities for his teammates has made him an important option for Mikel Arteta.
Henry, who understands what it takes to succeed at Arsenal, is believed to have highlighted the importance of recognising players who contribute beyond scoring goals. According to the reported comments, the former striker believes Havertz deserves more praise for his overall performances.
The German international has demonstrated his versatility by playing in different attacking positions. He can operate as a central striker, support the midfield and make intelligent runs into dangerous areas. His movement often creates space for teammates, even when he is not directly involved in the final action.
These qualities can sometimes go unnoticed by supporters who judge attacking players mainly through goals and assists. However, football involves several important responsibilities, and Havertz has shown that he can contribute in different ways.
Henry’s reported message could encourage Arsenal fans to look more closely at the German’s influence on the team’s attacking structure. The former Barcelona and Arsenal forward was known for his exceptional movement, technical ability and understanding of attacking football. His experience gives weight to discussions about the importance of players who make intelligent decisions without always receiving the spotlight.
Under Arteta, Arsenal have developed a system that requires attacking players to work collectively. Havertz’s willingness to press opponents, challenge defenders, link up with teammates and arrive in the penalty area has helped him fit into the manager’s plans.
Although he has faced criticism during difficult periods, the forward has also delivered important performances. His physical presence provides Arsenal with another attacking dimension, particularly when the team needs to compete against strong defensive opponents.
Supporters naturally expect high standards from every Arsenal player, especially as the club continues to compete for major trophies. However, constant criticism can sometimes overlook the progress and contributions of individuals.
Havertz will also understand that he must continue improving. Playing for Arsenal comes with enormous expectations, and every performance is examined by supporters and the media. Maintaining consistency, taking chances and producing decisive moments will remain important if he wants to win over every section of the fanbase.
Nevertheless, recognising his strengths does not mean ignoring areas where he can improve. It simply means assessing his performances fairly and appreciating the different responsibilities he carries within the team.
Henry’s reported comments could become another talking point among Arsenal supporters, particularly those who remain divided over Havertz’s importance to the squad.
For Arteta, having a player capable of offering different attacking options is valuable. Havertz’s versatility, work rate and understanding of the manager’s system make him an important member of the squad.
Ultimately, Arsenal fans will hope the German continues producing performances that justify the confidence placed in him. If he maintains his contribution and becomes even more consistent in front of goal, the appreciation Henry reportedly wants him to receive could grow naturally.
