Arsenal are being tipped with a stunning bid for Newcastle’s star Brazilian midfielder Bruno Guimares, having sealed a replacement for Leandro Trossard overnight.
Greek forward Christos Tzolis has joined from Club Brugge for £34m ($ AUD 65 million) having provided 43 goals and 45 assists in 108 appearances for the Belgium club, with a league high 40 goal involvements last season alone.
Arsenal have added a player of high promise, someone with attacking intent, leading Belgium’s league for chances created, progressive carries and successful dribbles, while also enjoying Champions League experience as well against Atalanta, Atletico Madrid and Barcelona, games in which he scored and provided assists.

Trossard left for Besiktas during the transfer window, and the versatile 24-year-old arrives as his long-term replacement, returning to England having spent three years at Norwich, in which he made 30 appearances but was also loaned out to Twente in Holland and Fortuna Dusseldorf in Germany before moving to Brugge.
Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta said: “Christos is an extremely versatile attacking player who naturally operates on the left but is comfortable across the front line.
“He’s an excellent finisher with both feet, thrives in tight spaces, and possesses incredible technical ability.
“Christos has produced outstanding numbers in terms of goals and assists over the last three seasons, and he’s a player who will raise the technical level of our squad, while bringing positive energy, enthusiasm, and a strong mentality to our team.”
Tzolis explained: “We (he and Arteta) alked about everything – about the club, about myself, about his plans, about me of course, about the team,” he said. “It was only positive things.
“I’m a direct player, I go for goals or assists. That’s my point of view as an attacker, as a winger.

Meanwhile, the BBC are reporting that Arsenal are ready to bid £70m ($ AUD 134 million) for Newcastle’s captain Bruno Guimares.
The 28-year-old is reportedly interested in joining the league champions but it is expected Newcastle, who do not want to sell, will reportedly have a high asking price.
Mikel Arteta is reportedly not going to be idle in the transfer market.
Aston Villa defender Ezri Knosa is reportedly their No.1 priority in defence, while the BBC suggests that Atletico Madrid’s Argentina superstar Julian Alvarez is their “dream target” while Paris Saint-Germain’s electric French winger Bradley Barcola has also been “explored” as a target.
Alvarez’s move could be far fetched given his preference for a highly reported move to Barcelona and the fact that the Gunners would have to break Alexander Isak’s British record transfer fee to do so.
