‘So happy to be here’: Declan Rice’s three-word reaction after his first Arsenal training session under Arteta

Declan Rice trained with his Arsenal teammates for the first time today since joining them from West Ham United on Saturday.

The England international midfielder joined the Gunners as they flew to the United States yesterday for their pre-season tour.

Arsenal kick off their tour with a game against MLS All-Stars on July 20 (Thursday) before facing Manchester United, Barcelona and AS Monaco.

Rice and co have been preparing for the games, but the 24-year-old only did some light work on the bike today.

The most expensive signing in Arsenal history is one of the players who did not work on the grass today as planned.

Rice is building up his fitness having just joined the team on Saturday. He loved every bit of the training and has since taken to Instagram to send this message to the fans.

Rice is likely to make his debut this week and manager Mikel Arteta wants to make sure he is in top condition.

The former West Ham star regularly trained during his short holiday in Portugal and should not take long before hitting top gear.

Arsenal started their pre-season preparations with a 1-1 draw with Watford behind closed-doors earlier this month before travelling to Germany for training and facing Nurnberg last Thursday.
