Arsenal player’s agents now want Edu to sell him for £10m cheaper than planned – Player doesn’t want to play for Arteta next season

Arsenal striker is attracting major interest but his agents are trying to get his price tag down.

Folarin Balogun is being valued at around £50million but his agents are hoping to get the price down to £40million.

That is according to 90Min, who claim that Balogun is a wanted man this summer.

It’s stated that Inter Milan are set to begin talks with Balogun’s representatives after scrapping a move for Romelu Lukaku.

Atalanta and Lille are also interested, but only if they sell Rasmus Hojlund and Jonathan David respectively

One of the key problems for the interested clubs is that Arsenal’s asking price is just so far beyond them.

Arsenal want £50million for Balogun, believing he is worth big money after 21 goals in 37 league games on loan at Stade de Reims last season.

90Min claim that Balogun’s representatives are now hoping to drive the price tag down to around £40million, seeking a £10million discount.

Arsenal need to sell Folarin Balogun this summer

Whether Arsenal agree with Balogun’s representatives remains to be seen, but it may be best to sell the striker

Arsenal have spent massively on three major signings this summer, landing Kai Havertz, Jurrien Timber and Declan Rice

Balancing the books isn’t necessarily the right word, but selling some players would make sense for Arsenal now.

Granit Xhaka has gone and we’re expecting to see the likes of Cedric Soares, Rob Holding, Nuno Tavares, Thomas Partey, Albert Sambi Lokonga and Nicolas Pepe move on.

None of them – maybe with the exception of Partey if Arsenal can strike a good deal – have the value of Balogun.

It’s a shame that Balogun won’t be a key man at Arsenal as his form last season means he deserves to shine somewhere.

Arsenal just don’t have room for Balogun with Havertz joining Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah in the attacking ranks.

Selling up is the best move even if it stings a little, with Balogun potentially ready to become a star somewhere else.
