Manchester United remain consistently linked with Goncalo Inacio and they are ahead of arch rivals, Liverpool, in the race to sign him.

As per today’s version of Record (news image provided below), the Portuguese is a very attractive figure in the summer transfer window.

The famous news source have mentioned that the 22-year-old defender is ‘the target of’ two of the biggest English clubs.

It is stated that Man Utd are ‘ahead of Liverpool’ for Inacio, who is expected to move away from Sporting CP this summer.

Record claim that after four seasons at the highest level, it is getting increasingly difficult for the Lions to hold on to the prized asset.

The report mentions:

“He (Inacio) has all the qualities required in modern football: left-footed, perfect at burning lines from behind, position, speed, header.”

Yesterday, we covered a story from A Bola stating that Man Utd are willing to meet the asking fee of 60 million euros to sign him.

As per the publication, Liverpool would have been in a better position to lure the youngster if they had opted to secure the services of current Sporting CP manager, Ruben Amorim, and not Arne Slot.

As yet, Man Utd have not confirmed whether Erik ten Hag will be the manager next season and we are surprised the club is not linked with Amorim, who beat strong rivals like Benfica and Porto to win the Primeira Liga title.

As far as Inacio is concerned, the defender is already a top player and has the qualities to excel in England.
