Arsenal defender has told fans not to worry about his injury situation as he is now nearly ready to play again.
Zinchenko has suffered with injury problems this season.
Knee and calf problems have kept Zinchenko on the sidelines this term, limiting him to just seven Premier League appearances.
That’s a major source of frustration for Arsenal, who have seen Zinchenko impress when available.
This break for the World Cup was supposed to allow Zinchenko to fully recover from his injury problems.
However, Zinchenko has missed friendlies against Watford and Lyon due to a ‘muscle problem’ and some are worried again.
ZINCHENKO CALMS FEARS OVER ARSENAL INJURY SITUATION
Zinchenko has now spoken to Sky Sports about his injury issues.
The Ukrainian suggested that he has ‘a little muscle tightness’ at the moment and that’s keeping him out of action.
Zinchenko did though note that he is ‘nearly there’ and told fans not to worry as he will be back soon enough.
Being out of action is the ‘worst feeling’ according to Zinchenko and he is now excited for the second half of the season.
“You know, I have a little muscle tightness, but I’m nearly there, so don’t worry about this,” said Zinchenko. “Obviously, I’m also working hard to get my fitness back and to be with the team as quickly as I can. It’s the worst feeling, to be fair… for every footballer to be out of the team.”
“And yeah, in the last couple of months, I was struggling a lot but I hope everything is in the past already. And now, I’m fully focused and so excited for the rest of the season,” he added.
Most Gunners are excited too – top of the table by five points and hopefully ready to hit top form again despite the injury to Gabriel Jesus.
Arsenal will hope to have ZInchenko ready to go for the Boxing Day clash against West Ham United.
Getting minutes in his legs out in Dubai would have been ideal but it sounds like that may not happen.
Mikel Arteta at least has cover on that side; Kieran Tierney is a natural left back whilst Takehiro Tomiyasu has even been used there this season.
Zinchenko is ultimately first choice in that area though and Arteta will be praying for good news in the coming days with Arsenal now two weeks away from their Premier League return.
